IDW have announced that they will be airing the pilot of Fox’s cancelled Locke & Key TV series at Comic-Con International 2011. The pilot will be aired on July 22th at 10:30 AM and will be  followed by a panel discussion featuring Joe Hill, Gabriel Rodriguez, the pilot’s writer/executive producer Josh Friedman and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The screening will be held in Room 8, and the panel will be held next door in Room 9.

According to Deadline, IDW Publishing are the force behind organizing the event, and approached 20th Century Fox to get permission to screen the pilot at the convention. While movies are frequently screened at the event, it isn’t very often that TV show get in on the game, especially one that has been cancelled.  “This one-time-only screening of the entire pilot will show you just what a void there will be on your TVs this fall,” IDW’s ad materials say.

So, if you are going to the con, make sure you don’t miss out on this unique opportunity, and once you’ve watched it, tell Fox that they need to pick this up for a series!
