New Spider-Man Movie Titled ‘The Amazing Spider-Man,’ Full Costume Photo Revealed

Columbia Pictures officially announced today that the title of the next Spider-Man film will be “The Amazing Spider-Man.”

The studio also revealed the first official photo of of Andrew Garfield dressed in the full Spider-Man costume and mask.

I have to say, the costume show in the official studio pictures seems a lot grittier than the ones that we’ve seen seeing in unofficial set pics. I think they must be adding that black webbing effect in post, which is good, because some of the previous set pics made the costume look a bit like a Power Rangers knock-off. When you look at the photo, pay close attention to his wrists. That’s right, mechanical web-slingers! Awesome!

The Amazing Spider-Man, is currently in production and is being shot entirely in 3D. The movie scheduled to be released on July 3, 2012.  The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.  Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the Marvel Entertainment production for Columbia Pictures. The executive producers are Stan Lee, Kevin Feige, and Michael Grillo.
