New Shots of Andrew Garfield in Action as the New Spider-Man

Courtesy of On Location News and Superherohype come new close-up shots of Andrew Garfield, in action as Spider-Man, from the LA set of Marc Webb’s Upcoming Spider-Man series reboot.

I have posted what I think are the best three pictures, below. Superherohype also have a bunch showing Garfield hanging around in the down time between shots, so to see those, head over to their site.

I have to say, I’m not really liking this new costume, it’s looking very 1990s, like a reject from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers!

The new movie is directed by Marc Webb, and is set to reboot the Spider-Man movie franchise with a much younger Peter Parker, who is still in high-school. The film is said to take its inspiration from Ultimate Spider-Man, by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley - but let’s home that they don’t all talk in Bendis dialogue!

The cast includes  Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, as well as  Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Irrfan Khan, Denis Leary, Chris Zylka, Campbell Scott, C. Thomas Howell, Julianne Nicholson and Annie Parisse. See more at

The release date has been set as July 3, 2012.

This kind of confirms my suspicion that the black webbing is going to be CG’d on. It looks kind of boring otherwise.
