First Still of Karl Urban as Judge Dredd Released

1

2000 AD / Rebellion have released the first still image of actor Karl Urban dressed up as their iconic character, Judge Dredd, from the set of the upcoming movie “Dredd”, which began filming this month in Cape Town, South Africa.

The image first appeared on the 2000adonline.com message boards, but has since been removed. Reaction from fans has been mixed, which is not surprising after the last disastrous attempt to bring Dredd to the big screen, you can see why fans would be hesitant!

Apart from the fact that it’s a crappy quality, and slightly blurry image, I’m quite liking it. The helmet is spot on, the lawgiver looks authentic, the only things I notice wrong is the fact that the shoulder eagle is missing, and that his badge is more in the style of the last movie than in that of the comic book.

What do you think?
