Leigh Gallagher Gives Fans a Glimpse at the Making of His First Judge Dredd Strip

1

Hypergeek favourite artist Leigh Gallagher has recently had his first Judge Dredd strip published in Judge Dredd Megazine #293. The story is titled ‘Dog Soldiers, Part 1‘, and is written by Robbie Morrison, drawn by Leigh, and is coloured by Abigail Ryder (only her second colouring job for 2000 AD/JD Meg).

As a special treat, Leigh has given fans a special look at how he created the art: going from the pencils to the inks, to the final coloured piece. Sadly, he’s lost his original rough sketches, but you get the idea.

Here’s a sneak peek at one of the final pages, to see the rest, head over to: http://leighgallagherart.blogspot.com/2010/01/judge-dredd-dog-soldiers-part-1.html

Make sure you pick up his month’s Megazine, because it’s going to be a great one! With stories from great writers like Alan Grant, Robbie Morrison, Alan Martin, and Al Ewing, alongside artwork from amazing artists like Leigh Gallagher, PJ Holden, Rufus Dayglo, and Jonathan Hunt-Davis, this is one issue that you do not want to miss!

Wow, that’s pretty. I’ve been a fan of Leigh’s since purchasing Defoe (on the advice of this site). Jumping into 2000AD has been an extremely pleasant eye opener for me. I was always peripherally aware, but I can’t order the Rebellion phone books fast enough now. If only I didn’t have to wait 2 months to get the packs.
