AYN RAND’S ENDURING IMPACT CENTERPIECE OF NEW FEMALE FORCE BIOGRAPHY COMIC

As her philosophies continue to resonate in modern political thought and academic debate, Any Rand’s enduring impact serves as the centerpiece for an upcoming biography comic book from Bluewater Productions featuring her life and legacy.

“Female Force: Ayn Rand,” scheduled for release in May, provides an entertaining yet scholarly look at the author of such seminal works as “The Fountainhead” and “Atlas Shrugged.” Even 30 years after her death, her sales of her books continue to sell in the hundreds of thousands each year.

“When the American economy went into a nose dive recently what did we all turn to? Did we dig out battered old Econ 101 text books? Did we turn to the writings of some aged Ivy League professor? NO! Instead we dusted off or repurchased ‘The Fountainhead’ and ‘Atlas Shrugged’ those great classic American novels by Russian immigrant Ayn Rand which deal so brilliantly with the fundamentals of a free and prosperous society of responsible individuals,” said author John Blundell.

Blundell, author of “Margaret Thatcher: A Portrait of the Iron Lady” as well as Bluewater’s Thatcher bio comic, and formerly the Director General of the Institute of Economic Affairs in London, emphasizes the relevancy and potency of Rand’s Objectivism ideas in 21st century America.

According to Blundell her philosophy can be heard in the language of the Tea Party movement and felt as a constant guiding force behind the Federal Reserve Board. To some her Objectivist principles are the foundation of the American ideal of personal freedom, self-reliance and free market capitalism, while other dismiss it as selfish and unsound.

“To date our biography comics feature very few public figures that have passed on, but Ayn Rand’s influence on American culture is indelible,” said Bluewater president Darren Davis, who also noted that the Vancouver, WA-based publisher is working with the Ayn Rand Foundation on the title. “And that is exactly what the Female Force line of comics tries to promote.”

“Female Force: Ayn Rand,” penciled by Todd Tenant, who also provided the cover art, will retail for $3.99 and be available through most online venues like Amazon.com as well as local comic book stores.
