Adrianne Palicki Chosen to Play Wonder Woman in NBC TV Pilot

1

Adrianne Palicki has been chosen to play the role of the iconic titular character in David E. Kelley‘s upcoming pilot for a new Wonder Woman TV show for NBC.

The show is planned as a contemporary retelling of the classic DC Comics series, in which Palicki will play Wonder Woman a.k.a. Diana Prince, a woman who is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A., but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman, trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

The script for the pilot is penned by David E. Kelley, who will executive produce the show, along with Bill D’EliaJeffrey Reiner will direct.

Palicki is best known for playing the role of Tyra Collete in the NBC/DirecTV series Friday Night Lights, and next stars in the upcoming remake of Red Dawn.

While I can’t speak for her acting skills, having never seen her in anything, she certainly looks the part, when she is a brunette that is (often has blond hair).  I’m cautiously optimistic about this new series, though it’s going to take a lot for Kelley to overcome the camp appeal of the cult 70s series! However, I’m sure that his picking such an attractive lead is surely going to help massively on that front. Will she be sexier than the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman? I think so!
