Help Fund the Transmetropolitan 2011 Art Book on Kickstarter!

2

I have just been informed that there is now a Kickstarter project, with the aim of helping to fund the Transmetropolitan 2011 Art Book. This new art book will be a hardcover volume, limited to a few thousand hand-numbered copies.

The goal of the project is to raise $100,000 to be donated to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and the Hero Initiative. This donation will be comprised of donated books and/or goods and promotional events afforded through the fundraising efforts on Kickstarter. No licensing fees or sales proceeds will be directed to DC Comics, Warren Ellis, or Darick Robertson. All of the participating artists are donating new original art for the book.

The minimum donation amount is $1, and there are a number of incentives, which begin at $55 for a hardcover copy of the artbook (from the first 2000 copies of the run), and end at $255 for 5 copies of  the hardcover edition.

Artists who have agreed to donate artwork for the project include:

Aaron Alexovich, Martin Ansin, Brandon Badeaux, Edmund Bagwell, Joe Benitez, Rick Berry, Nicholas Bradshaw, Dan Brereton, Evan Bryce, Stephanie Buscema, Jim Calafiore, Cliff Chiang, Katie Cook, Molly Crabapple, Camilla d’Errico, Michael Dialynas, Aaron Diaz, Kristian Donaldson, Ryan Dunlavey, Gary Erskine, Simon Fraser, Richard Friend, Dan Goldman, Cully Hamner, Matt Howarth, K Thor Jensen, Lukas Ketner, Sam Kieth, Clint Langley, Jeff Lemire, Corey Lewis, Milo Manara, John McCrea, Kevin Mellon, Moritat, Dean Motter, J O’Barr, Len O’Grady, Alberto Ponticelli, Rodney Ramos, Paul Renaud, Afua Richardson, Darick Robertson, Jimmie Robinson, James Romberger, Nei Ruffino, Tim Seeley, Liam Sharp, Alex Sheikman, Paul Sizer, Fiona Staples, Dave Taylor, Spike Trotman, Pete Venters, Matthew Weldon, Pete Woods, JK Woodward, and Annie Wu.

That’s quite the list of artists, eh? I was so impressed that I just pledged $125 for a limited edition hardcover copy of the book, from the first 100 books printed, signed and personalized with a head sketch by series co-creator Darick Robertson! I can’t wait!
