Thor Brings Hammer Time to the NYSE
The God of Thunder rocks the New York Stock Exchange

The God of Thunder himself was spotted today, walking the hallowed halls of… The New York Stock Exchange?!

Thor stopped in on a contest at the Exchange, where employees competed for tickets to the Mighty Avenger’s big screen debut this week by lifting Mjolnir from it’s resting place. Many found their might being tested to the fullest. “I lifted the whole thing off the ground. Nothin’!” quipped one of the employees, fresh off his attempt at wielding the thunderous hammer.

The quest for Mjolnir was just one example of a great relationship that Marvel and the NYSE share.

“We’re very proud that they’re listed with us,” said Beth Porto, the Stock Exchange’s Managing Director of Global Marketing and Branding. “We like to help support their product. They’ve hosted our ‘Kids Day’ for two years, that’s 2,000 kids. We encourage our traders to bring their children in.”

Although not all of the competitors could be chosen by the mighty Mjolnir, each one went home with the electrifying Thor Lightning Hammer from Hasbro and their picture with the Asgardian prince himself!

To conclude the business day at the NYSE, Thor, along with an NYSE representative and his Marvel buddies Tom Marvelli (VP of Creative Services), Niza Disla (Director of Partnerships), Adam Wolff (VP, Consumer Products Finance), Axel Alonso (Editor in Chief), Chris Acquaviva (SVP Finance), Benjamin Dean (VP and Associate General Counsel), Joshua Silverman (SVP Global Business Development and Strategy, SVP Brand Management) and Gregory Pan (Associate Counsel, Director of Consumer Products) rang the final bell to signal the close of trading.

Remember, see Thor in his big screen debut this Friday, May 6!
