From the press release:

DOGS of Mars issue #2 is out now from Comixology. Written by Tony Trov and Johnny Zito (Moon Girl, LaMorte Sisters), and illustrated by Paul Maybury (Strange Tales II, Aqua Leung), DOGS of Mars is a sci-fi/horror series that takes place on a Martian landscape that turns out to be as deadly as it is desolate.

Nocturnal monsters stalk marooned astronauts as Zoe, the swashbuckling captain of Earth’s first off-world colony, struggles to maintain order. Isolated on the farthest frontier of civilization, Zoe faces mutiny, death and dishonor; she must sacrifice her humanity if she hopes to survive. It’s Star Trek meets Lord of the Flies for horror fans.

“We like to describe the project as being in the genre of space-ploitation,” says Tony Trov of DOGS of Mars.

DOGS of Mars is a love letter to gore-core, Alien sci-fi and classics like Aeon Flux,” says Johnny Zito.

Paul Maybury, DOGS of Mars artist, says, “This is a study of the character’s humanity under extreme conditions in my opinion.”
