Anne Hathaway Cast as Catwoman For ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, Tom Hardy Cast as Bane

This Afternoon, Warner Bros. Pictures put out a press release that revealed that Anne Hathaway had been cast as Selina Kyle, better known as Catwoman,  in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises.” In addition, they also revealed that Tom Hardy had been cast as Bane.

I have to admit, I have never seen anything with Anne Hathaway in it, so I don’t know if she’s any good or not. She’s certainly very pretty, but from what I’ve seen of her, she seems a little bit too sweet and innocent to play Catwoman. Then I found this picture to the top right, and reevaluated that opinion a little. Besides, Christopher Nolan is the king of casting, and always seems to pick the exact right person for each role, even when you think that they would never suit that character!

The second announcement of Tom Hardy as Bane comes as no huge surprise, as Nolan had previously cast him in Inception, and Nolan seems to love to reuse actors in different movies. He seems like he could pull of Bane, but then again, Bane doesn’t require that much acting, just a bunch of grunting, really!

The Press release:
