Zack Snyder Set To Direct New ‘Superman’ Film

Deadline.com has spoken to Zack Snyder, and have been told that once he finished post production on his next movie, Sucker Punch, he’ll begin work on Warner Bros. reboot of the Superman franchise, which is being developed by Chris Nolan and David Goyer.

“I’ve been a big fan of the character for a long time, he’s definitely the king of all superheroes, he’s the one,” Snyder, said. “It’s early yet, but I can tell you that what David and Chris have done with the story so far definitely has given me a great insight into a way to make him feel modern. I’ve always felt he was kind of awesome. I’ll finish Sucker Punch and get right at it.”

To be honest, I’m not sure how I feel about this news. I love what Goyer and Nolan have been doing with the Batman franchise, so their involvement gives me hope that this will be a great new start for Superman on the big screen; however, I pretty much despise Snyder’s work on 300 and Watchmen, so that’s a big turn off. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst!
