Orang Utan Comics Announces Particle Fiction, Volume 1 TPB

From the press release:

Coming this October from Orang Utan Comics

PARTICLE FICTION VOLUME 1

Collecting the first 6 months of the cult webcomic series

Particle Fiction is a webcomic with a difference- instead of the usual daily or weekly one-page-at-a-time model we’ve grown to expect, Particle Fiction updates once a month with a full 16 page story, much like a print comic book. An anthology of sorts, Particle Fiction features a different story every month, sometimes with recurring characters or settings, such as the inter-dimensional lawman IDEASMAN, but just as often not. There is no set genre, and in the first 6 issues alone Particle Fiction has covered science fiction, crime, fantasy, comedy, horror, and even a western.

Apart from “ashcan” style versions of each issue sold at UK comic cons, Particle Fiction has previously only been available to read online; this October that changes. Collecting all 6 issues that have been released so far into a single digest sized, black and white TPB, PARTICLE FICTION VOLUME 1 will be a great addition to any comic lover’s bookshelf.

112 pages - black & white, colour cover - $6.99

Praise for Particle Fiction:

“Particle Fiction by David Wynne is the latest monthly web series to have us impatiently drumming our fingers on the desk as we wait for the first of the month to roll around”
- SFX Magazine http://www.sfx.co.uk/

“David Wynne’s comics combine the passion of youth with the grand tradition of master ink-slingers like Steve Ditko, Paul Grist and Alex Toth. If you aren’t reading his stuff, you’re letting the future of comic book storytelling pass you by.”
- Alan David Doane, comicbookgalaxy.com

“PF is the best of British comics- for this Monkey it evokes the spirit, joy and great storytelling of early 2000AD. In short, I LOVE this book.”
- James, The Monkey On My Back comics podcast, mombcomics.com

“It’s not the size of the book that counts, it’s what you do with it, and David Wynne has done something amazing.”
- Ami Angelwings, comics blogger and reviewer, ami-rants.blogspot.com

“like the lovechild of Peter Milligan and Frank Miller”
- Skullcull.com

“Like a sequential art version of Rod Serling, Wynne manages to regularly write, letter and draw a comic series that’s as varied as it is consistently entertaining”
- Scott Grandison, Comic Book Outsiders podcast, comicbookoutsiders.com

“Wynne’s bold, chunky drawing style, striking design sense and fluid, kinetic storytelling combined with his clever, witty writing mark him out as an exciting new talent. If you like Grant Morrison, Paul Grist, Philip Bond or simply entertaining comics created with skill and passion then Particle Fiction is essential reading and an absolute treat.”
- Lee Grice, Small Press Big Mouth podcast, smallpressbigmouth.blogspot.com

“Mad ideas up the yin-yang”
- Mark Kardwell, badlibrarianship.com
