Nick Simmons Releases a Statement About His Bleach Homage (RIP-OFF), Incarnate

3

If you’ve not been following the controversy surrounding Nick Simmons‘ Radical Comics Miniseries, Incarnate, basically, he has been accused of ripping off a number of popular manga titles, including the incredibly popular series, Bleach. Click here to read more about the story.

Simmons has remained quiet about the accusations until now, but his publisher, Radical Comics recently released a statement, saying that they would halt production and distribution of Incarnate, until the matter was resolved (see here). Well, it would seem that this has prompted Simmons to finally make a statement, and here it is:

“Like most artists I am inspired by work I admire. There are certain similarities between some of my work and the work of others. This was simply meant as an homage to artists I respect, and I definitely want to apologize to any Manga fans or fellow Manga artists who feel I went too far. My inspirations reflect the fact that certain fundamental imagery is common to all Manga. This is the nature of the medium.

“I am a big fan of Bleach, as well as other Manga titles. And I am certainly sorry if anyone was offended or upset by what they perceive to be the similarity between my work and the work of artists that I admire and who inspire me.”

As a reporter of the news, I know that I’m supposed to remain impartial when it comes to this kind of thing, but come on! Just admit that you traced it, you daft twat. What a fucking limp apology. I hope Tite Kubo sues his sorry ass!

I the statement above Nick Simmons says he’s a big fan of Bleach but in another statement he made earlier on his facebook he put ” I never read a japanese comic book or “magma”. So how can he be a fan of Bleach yet never read a japanese comic book. He’s full of it. Maybe swiping once or twice I can understand but the amount of swipes fans have found is unbelievable. Here’s a link to see how much he has swiped. http://community.livejournal.com/bleachness/446299.html
I hope he gets sued big time and all his money Daddy has given he goes bye-bye!!!
I wish Radical Comics the best of luck! I’d hate to see a publisher go down for some idiot.

Lol he’s contradicting himself; he said he doesn’t know of anything ‘manga’ and then said he’s a huge fan of bleach? How much dumber can you get?!?
