Geoff Johns Features As One of the “Nifty Fifty” of America’s Up-and-Comers in the Nytimes Style Magazine

This weekend, The New York Times Style Magazine published the “Nifty Fifty”, being a list of America’s up-and-coming, who according to the article are the perfect people to invite to your holiday cocktail parties.

I don’t normally read these things, but I got a hot tip to check out the piece, and I have to say that I was absolutely flabbergasted to discover the name GEOFF JOHNS listed at number 29 . At first I assumed that it was a different Geoff Johns, but no, it’s the genuine article. The one and only Geoff Johns, architect of the Blackest Night saga and saviour to Hal Jordan fans across the world!

Why is Geoff at #29 in the Nifty Fifty? Well, according to the piece:

[He is] the go-to guy to rescue classic heroes like the Green Lantern from the precipice of oblivion, is equally adept at writing comic books and their film and television adaptations. Right now “The Flash” and “Shazam!” occupy his screen.

So there you have it, the most bizarre piece of comic news of 2009! I’m going to go watch America’s Next Top Model, I understand Brian Michael Bendis is a judge this season!
