DC Announces That Flashpoint Will be a Five-Issue Event with Fifteen Tie-in Miniseries, and Several One-Shots!!!!

2

Over on The Source blog, DC have revealed some new information about this summer’s Flashpoint event. The main story will be told in a five-issue miniseries, written by Geoff Johns, and featuring the artwork of Andy Kubert and Sandra Hope. Alongside the main title, DC will also be releasing 15 tie-in miniseries, as well as several tie-in one-shots!

Holy cow! A five issue mini with 15+ tie-ins? That has to be a joke, right! Fans’ major complaints about these big blockbuster event comics is that they have way too many tie-ins. Doing over 15 tie-ins for a five-issue mini is absolutely preposterous! How many of these minis do you think we’ll have to buy in order to get the full story? Gah!

Alongside this piece of info, they also teased that the event “spans the DC Universe from the dark streets of Gotham to the ruins of Big Ben. It’s an international tale of action and intrigue that impacts an entire universe.” Adding that “This isn’t a parallel Earth. This isn’t a mirror world. This is home.” Ohhh, mysterious!

Checkback later today, for when DC will be revealing the title of 14 of the tie-in series.
