Marc Guggenheim to Write Nowhere Man for Liquid Comics

Deadline.com has the exclusive story that Marc Guggenheim has been commissioned by Liquid Comics (formerly Virgin Comics) to write a four-issue comic book miniseries called Nowhere Man. The first issue is set to hit shelves in November 2011, and will be available both in print and digital formats. The artwork on the book is provided by Liquid’s in-house artist Jeevan J.

Here’s the blurb:

The story takes place 500 years in the future, where an oppressive government monitors the population, down to its thoughts. Everyone on Earth has been infected with a nano-tech virus that makes computerized thought analysis possible. A group of rebels combat this by generating a genetically altered child born immune to the virus. He grows up to become the Nowhere Man, mankind’s best chance to topple the invasive regime.

The fact that they gave this news as an exclusive to a movie news site makes me think that Gotham Chopra et al. are fishing to get this project picked up and developed as a movie script. This wouldn’t surprise me, because many of Liquid and Virgin’s previous projects were optioned pretty quickly. That being said, I don’t think many have actually been filmed as yet.
