The Crow Movie to Get Remade

Deadline.com is reporting that a remake of the The Crow is in the works from director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who was responsible for 28 Weeks Later. Relativity Media is making the movie, with producer Edward R. Pressman

The Crow is an adaptation of the 1989 comic book series of the same name, which was created, written, and illustrated by James O’Barr. The comic was previously adapted into a 1994 movie, which started Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee.

The story follows Eric Draven, a rock musician who is revived from the dead to avenge his own murder, as well as that of his fiancée.

The original film has built up a cult following, due in part to the accidental death of Brandon Lee during filming. In the last weeks of production, Lee was mortally wounded when a dummy bullet, which had become lodged in one of the prop guns, was shot into his abdomen by a blank cartridge.
