Fantagraphics Presents: Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse by Floyd Gottfredson

From the press release:

Mickey: a mouse that needs no introduction. Actually, I bet you can’t write out M-I-C-K-E-Y without hearing the Micky Mouse Club theme song in your head. But, how did he come to be such an icon? Just two years after Mickey’s appearance in a myriad of animated sorts, Walt Disney started a comic strip staring the rip-roaring adventurer, Mickey Mouse. Floyd Gottfredson was hired as a short term replacement on the 4-month-old Mickey Mouse daily strip in April of 1930; he went on to draw the comic for the next 45 years.

Glimpses of Gottfredson’s masterpiece have been reprinted over the years, but the whole strip has never been comprehensively collected in English — until now! Fantagraphics is proud to present the first in a series of the collected strips, Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse Volume 1: “Race To Death Valley” by Floyd Gottfredson.
