Darren Aronofsky Reveals Plans for a New Comic Book/Movie Project

Darren Aronofsky have revealed that he is currently working on adapting a movie script into comic book form, with the hopes that the comic will then get option and turned into a movie.

Arnofsky was recently interviewed by Clothes on Film. During the interview, the interviewer noted that he had worked in comics before, with his adaptation of The  Fountain, and a tie-in book to Pi. He went on to ask Arnofsky if he had any plans to do something with his unproduced Batman 5 script, and whether we might see it appear in comic form. Arnofsky kind of dodged the question, but revealed that he does have plans for a comic book, but he couldn’t reveal any details about it yet, saying only that “We’re doing a comic book of a script that’s really hard to make and we’re going to do a comic version first and see what happens…”

He went on to say that “It seems like if you come up with an original script, in Hollywood it’s not as effective as a comic book. It doesn’t even have to be successful as a comic; I mean how successful were Kick-Ass or Scott Pilgrim? Those were fringe comics, right, and they were basically turned in to big”.
