Levitz & Giffen Reunite on Legion of Super-Heroes Annual #1

1

DC Comics have announced that the fan-favourite Legion of Super-Heroes creative team of Paul Lezitz and Keith Giffen will be reuniting this December for the oversized Legion of Super-Heroes Annual #1.

The special is set to introduce an all-new version of the Emerald Empress into current Legion continuity, as shown in the rather Kirby-esque image shown below.

Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen were the creative team on Legion in the 1980s, a time when the popularity of the title soared to heights never since attained, so it would be pretty fair to say that expectations are pretty high. Interestingly, this is the third Legion of Super-Heroes Annual #1 that the duo have worked on, with their previous efforts being in 1982 and 1985.

Why did they have to go with Kirby’s style instead of Cockrum’s????? Sigh…..
