DC Comics to Give Away White Lantern Promotional Rings with Copies of Brightest Day #1

OK, fans of the Green Lantern series, and followers of the Blackest Night miniseries, saw this one coming a mile off… or they should have! DC have announced that they will be offering free White Lantern promotional rings with very copy of Brightest Day #1 (click here to find out what that is).

For every 25 copies of Brightest Day #1 ordered by 4/15, retailers can order one bag of 50 White Lantern rings, at $8 a bag (why should they pay for free rings, you cheap bastards).

DC have also revealed that the White Lantern ring will also be included in DC Direct’s cool, but tacky, LED emotional spectrum ring set (see here).

This offer follows on from the the promotional ring campaign that DC launched back in November, where fans could get the power rings of the various lantern corps with select Blackest Night tie-in issues. By now, I assume everyone is familiar with the controversy surrounding Marvel’s offer to retailers to trade in unsold copies of these issues. If not, read here!

DC also recently announced that they will be offering free Green Lantern Rings with issues of Green Lantern #53, and free Flash rings with issues of The Flash #1 (volume ???). Too see more details of that offer, click here.

So there you have it, the cat is out of the bag on one of the most obvious reveals in comics since Lois Lane discovered that Superman was Clark Kent.
