Merry Fraggin’ Christmas, Ya Lousy Bastiches! Time to Celebrate Christmas, Lobo style!
![]() |
It’s Christmas, so it only seems apt to celebrate that with a crazed alien bounty hunter killing Santa Claus! Yep, it’s time to roll out the Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special again!
This short film was directed by Scott Leberecht as part of the American Film Institute’s director’s studies program. Andrew Bryniarski stars as Lobo, with Tom Gibis as the Easter Bunny and Michael V. Allen as Santa Claus. The film was made with a budget of $2,400, although many professionals donated time and effort. It premiered at the AFI in May 2002.
Lobo lovers will of course know that the film is adapted from the DC comics one-shot of the same name (shown to the right), which was written by Alan Grant & Keith Giffen, with pencils by Simon Bisley. The story follows Lobo on one of his strangest missions yet, as he is contracted by the Easter Bunny to assassinate Santa Claus!
Enjoy, and have a great day, ya bastiches!
