TV Squad Discusses How Cancelled TV Shows are Finding New Life of comiXology’s Comics App!

0

I just came across an interesting article on tvsquad.com that talks about how comixology’s Comics for iPhone app includes several titles based on popular genre shows of the recent and not-so-recent past.

The article goes on to say:

You’ll find that 80’s anime after school favorite, Voltron living here. Marvel’s animation-influenced X-Men flourishes in multiple versions. The Middleman, a now-canceled creative comic-book inspired children’s live action show, continues in iPhone form. In fact, The Middleman stories on Comixology were written to continue the TV show’s storyline.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand, a comic adaption of a Starz cable channel series, arrived recently. And, according to Comixology spokesperson Kevin Doel, more TV-based series are en route.

I’d never really noticed this, but I guess the best example would be Dark Horse’s Buffy the Vampire Season 8, and IDW’s Angel series continuation. Devil’s Due have also recently started a comic book continuation of the plot of the cult hit TV show, Jericho.

Head on over and read the article!
