Fantagraphics books have just revealed that they have come across a stash of rare back issues from The Comics Journal archive. The back issues are now available in limited quantities at Fantagraphics Bookstore, and are being sold at cover price!

Amongst the issues discovered is The Comics Journal #37 from December 1977, featuring the breathless headline “Star Wars: The Movie! The Comic! The Photos!” As included in the collection is The Comics Journal #53 containing an infamous interview with sci-fi writer Harlan Ellison, and The Comics Journal #53, which contains a revealing interview with mid-career Daniel Clowes.

According to Fantagraphics, this treasure trove of news, reviews, and essential interviews includes everything from Lynda Barry, Berke Breathed, Carl Barks, and the Bros to Crumb, Kirby, Kurtzman, Miller, Moore and more!
