Hypergeek’s Hot Picks is a weekly column on the site, where I take a look through the list of comics released that week, and decide which ones I think are worth picking up.

With most of the comics that I recommend, I have usually read a pre-release copy, and enjoyed it, or I have read a preview of the comic, and can predict that it is going to be a good read. At the end of the day though, it’s just my opinion, so don’t take it *too* seriously

I’m afraid that there will be no Hot Picks this week. My mother passed away on Monday, and I haven’t had the time or energy to read through any of this week’s comics. It is unlikely that I will do Hot Picks next week either, as my mother’s funeral is on the Wednesday.

I did have a chance to look at Die Hard Year one from BOOM! Studios, and while I’m not a big fan of licensed stuff like this I thought the artwork by Stephen Thompson, of Eclectic Micks fame, was absolutely gorgeous!

Before I found out that my mum had died I started to do a review of Sky Pirates of Neo Terra, and may get that posted tonight, along with an interview with writer Josh Wagner.
