I am jumping the gun a bit, but Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning produce my favourtie Marvel series, so I am eager to know any new involving the writing team. Today Marvel leaked the below promo image for Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning’s Realm of Kings one-shot, which shows an image of the Wendall Vaugn as Quasar, and touts the slogan “Marvels Original Cosmic Avenger returns.”

Abnett & Lanning featured the newly resurrected Wendall Vaughn as an supporting character in the Nova storyline of their ‘War of Kings’ event series, and while the promo doesn’t say whether Quasar will be coming back in his own series, I was lucky enough to interview Dan recently, and he said:

Marvel is keeping me plenty busy after WoK. Realm of Kings (RoK) will involve at least two new mini-series, covering the Inhuman and Imperial Guard consequences of the Kree-Shi’Ar War. Andy and I will be back to a book a week on the Marvel schedule.

The Two Miniseries mentioned are Realm of Kings: Imperial Guard and War of Kings: Inhumans, and once these miniseries wrap up Dan & Andy will be left with Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy. Therefore, for them to be doing a book a week they would need to pick up two new series, and I believe that Quasar will be one of those.

I considered contacting Dan to confirm, but Marvel most likely have a gag order on the project still, and Dan is currently taking a break due to feeling burn out, and I will respect his wishes and let him be.
