Random Thinks & Selected Links – May 21st, 2009

I wasn’t going to put anything up tonight, as I am up to my eyeballs, and some personal issues are seriously dampening my creative skills. I have also consumed a large bottle of wine this evening, so typos are inevitable…
However, because so many people have visited the site in the last few days (thanks everyone for reading) I thought I should at least post something, so figured that I would bring back this incredibly infrequent feature. This is basically where I point you to interesting things that I have seen around the web, such as cool webcomics, bits of news and the like.
- First up, Jamie Smart just posted a great Angry Little Robot strip that made me laugh out loud (note: not LOL). I hate the emo-rock-punk-pop shit that the kids are listening to these days, and would love to do this to these berks:
- Warren Ellis has announced a new comic series called Supergod. He says of it “…t’s one of the odder things I’ve written, I think. Someone made the mistake of asking me for another superhero-mode comic, and I suspect maybe since I returned to that subgenre something important in my brain developed moss on it or something…” Hell, I know I’m gonna be picking this up!
- I have been informd that new publisher Studio407 have put up a free webcomic of their Night Projectionists Noir story. I haven’t read the whole thing, but what I have read so far has been pretty fun. Definitely wirth checking out! They will also have Matthew McLean’s Forgotten 22 coming up as a free weekly webcomic very soon, so keep an eye out for that.
- Bryan Talbot, artist extraordinaire has posted a couple of trailers for his upcoming Grandville project. I have been looking forward to this one, and I cannot wait!
- Finally, I am sad to report that Paul Cornell has had to announce to fans that his Captain Britain and MI:13 series has been cancelled. This was one of my favourite Marvel books, and I shall be incredibly sad to see it go. Sigh!. Check out what Paul has to say about the cancellation over on his blog.
