Last Week, Jamie Smart, author of the excellent SLG series Ubu Bubu contacted me to ask if it would be OK to quote Hypergeek for the collected edition of Ubu Bubu. The quote in question was to come from a review I did last year of Ubu Bubu #2. I told Jamie to feel free, I absolutely loved the comic, and would feel honoured to be quoted on the collected version. I looked back at the review, and I wasn’t really impressed with my writing on it. It was very early in the life on the blog, and I was still honing my skills at doing this. I like, or hope, to think that my writing has improved a lot since then; however, you readers might think otherwise. Anyway, I told Jamie that I would come up with a mini-review of the whole series, and this is what I gave him:

“Ubu Bubu is the most hilariously entertaining, and maniacally insane thing I have ever read. The Apocalyse? Evil Kitties? S&M Demons? Nazi Skeletons? Pool Parties? This book has them all, and more! Jamie Smart is a mad genius, he should be given an award, or put in an asylum, either or!”

I don’t know if this is the final quote that will make the book, or if I’ll been on there in the final version. I told him to feel free to paraphrase, edit it, whatever he wants.

If you aren’t buying Ubu Bubu, trust me, you should be. See if your LCS has the back issues, or wait for the trade, which should be coming out reasonably soon. It really is an amazing, and hilarious comic.
